Project Overview
New Frontiers Solar Park will be located in Breckinridge County, KY, just outside the town limits of Hardinsburg. The area is mostly agricultural, used for both crops and ranching. This solar park project would mark our first solar park located in the state of Kentucky.
Energy Output
New Frontiers Solar Park will have an installed capacity of 100 megawatts (MW). New Frontiers' generation is equivalent to the consumption of more than 16,600 Kentucky homes.
Benefits
Community
New Frontiers Solar Park yields significant economic benefits to the community in the form of payments to landowners, local spending, and annual community investment.
New Frontiers represents a capital investment of $200 million+ and will disperse $7 million in property tax payments to local governments and school districts over the life of the project. The project will create hundreds of full-time equivalent jobs during construction as well as multiple permanent jobs. Through the project’s lifecycle, millions of dollars will be spent within 50 miles of the solar park.
Landowners
New Frontiers Solar Park will be compatible with other land uses and will provide a stable form of income to local landowners. Approximately $35 million will be paid to the solar park’s landowners through the life of the project.
Environment
New Frontiers Solar Park will save more than 177 million gallons of water each year and displaces carbon emissions from fossil fuel power plants, a major contributor to climate change. Solar energy also enhances air quality by helping to mitigate the health effects of harmful air pollutants.
National Security
New Frontiers Solar Park will contribute to the United States' energy security and help diversify our nation's energy supply.
Technology
Solar Panels
New Frontiers Solar Park is currently exploring using 890ac of panels across roughly 1,100ac of private lease agreements.
