EDP Renewables North America and 4-H join forces to promote sustainable education and renewable energy initiatives
EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA), a leading renewable energy developer and a top five renewable energy operator in the United States, is proud to announce a new partnership with 4-H, the nation’s largest youth development organization. This collaboration brings together two organizations dedicated to sustainability, education, and community empowerment. Together, EDP Renewables and 4-H aim to educate and inspire the next generation of leaders to embrace renewable energy solutions and environmental stewardship.
The collaboration will focus on STEM education through the distribution of 4-H STEM Challenge kits and educational curriculum on CLOVER by 4-H, a dynamic, e-learning platform. The 2023 4-H STEM Challenge kit, Power Protectors, is a collection of three activities that teach kids how to address real-world issues and explore careers in energy. CLOVER meets Gen Z and Gen Alpha digital natives where they are with online content that sparks curiosity for learning and future career paths.
“EDPR has seen how respected and valued 4-H is in nearly all the communities where our wind farms, solar parks, and battery storage projects operate. We are thrilled to support 4-H at the platform level in our mission to transition to a clean energy future by investing in and collaborating with rural communities," stated Sandhya Ganapathy, CEO, EDP Renewables North America. "4-H's commitment to youth development aligns perfectly with our goal to educate and inspire young minds about the role of renewable energy and land stewardship. Together, we aim to cultivate a new generation of environmentally conscious leaders."
"For more than 120 years, 4-H has empowered young people to find their spark and make a positive impact in their communities and world,” said Jill Bramble, President and CEO, National 4-H Council. “This partnership is a natural extension of our mission, and we look forward to harnessing the innovation of EDP Renewables and the power of 4-H youth leaders to promote sustainability and renewable energy."
The EDP Renewables and 4-H partnership represents a significant step toward fostering a culture of sustainability and renewable energy education and leadership among young people, building a brighter and cleaner future for generations to come.
