The ‘Your energy' program arrives in Italy with the participation of over 1,000 school students.
It took place in Italy during 12 days at the end of October and first week of November in the regions of Basilicata and Apulia. This educational initiative from EDP Renováveis is launched with the idea of explaining to the youngest ones the difference among the various types of energy generation technologies, with a special emphasis on renewable energy.
Specifically, a total of 1,155 children from among 63 classrooms in 9 primary schools located in the towns of Villa Castelli, Laterza, Ferrandina, Salandra, Calciano and San Mauro and Pietragalla have benefitted from this special campaign.
The teaching method used during these sessions is based on the active participation of students together with problem solving, using the proposals that are brought forward by the group. Likewise, the campaign includes graphical materials such as videos and brochures that are used to conduct more enjoyable sessions and to catch the attention of students. At the end of the presentations, children were handed out books and backpacks.
This type of events receives strong recognition by the faculty and directors from different schools. On this occasion, teachers at the end of the session jointly highlighted the novel nature of the activity, its originality and suitability, when talking about the subject of energy.
These projects undertaken by EDPR in those regions where it is present have a strong impact on the development of the program at local city councils and with mayors and city officials.
