The initiative is expected to mobilize an investment of 780 million and create nearly 400 permanent jobs in operation and maintenance.

Thanks to this comprehensive intervention, the area will have continued access to clean and competitive energy resources, a key strength for attracting strategic industries.

The project combines actions in the fields of storage, hydrogen production and wind and hydroelectric generation.

More than 7,000 direct and indirect equivalent jobs will be required during the years of construction.

The main objective of the initiative is both to combat social exclusion and to improve the quality of life of the people living in the areas near its wind farms.

This year, the company has carried out the program in Spain, specifically in Muxía (Galicia).

Since the launch of the initiative in 2016, EDPR has developed its Closer2you program in different countries where it operates.

The company celebrates the start in generation at Moray East and announces its intentions of continuing its investment in Scotland through development of activities in the Moray Firth, the largest firth in Scotland.

Future development of offshore wind in Scottish waters, will be enabled by Moray West, under development, and  the upcoming  ScotWind leasing process.
