EDPR is included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index for second consecutive year
EDPR is one of the 380 companies included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, which selects the companies most committed to gender equality in the world.
Madrid, January 27th 2021. EDPR, a world leader in the renewable energy sector and the third largest wind energy producer in the world, has been featured for the second consecutive year as part of the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI), a benchmark index that selects the listed companies most involved in the development of gender equality in the world. EDPR's inclusion as part of this index highlights the company's work to promote equal opportunities for women through development, representation and transparency policies.
In this edition, a total of 380 companies from 11 sectors and 44 countries are part of the index. For its elaboration, more than 400 companies have been assessed according to five parameters: female leadership and talent promotion; inclusive culture; wage gap; anti-harassment policies and female empowerment campaigns. Only those companies whose score meets or exceeds the globally established threshold are selected to be part of the prestigious index.
The CEO and Chairman of the Board of EDP Renewables, Miguel Stilwell de Andrade, said: "I believe an inclusive workplace, with a wide diversity of thought and talent, is fundamental to our ability to continue innovating. That is how EDPR will lead the transition to a greener, more sustainable future for all”.
