EDPR informs on contract secured for 85 MW of Storage in the US
Madrid, September 16th 2024: EDP Renováveis, S.A. (“EDPR”), through its fully owned subsidiary EDP Renewables North America LLC, has secured a long-term Capacity Tolling Agreement with Dominion Energy Inc. for an 85 MW (340 MWh) stand-alone BESS (Battery Energy Storage System).
The project, located in Virginia, US, is expected to reach commercial operations in 2027. EDPR continues reinforcing its commitment with innovation and the development of new technologies and underscores its belief in the critical role of storage in maximizing renewable energy's potential, fostering further the acceleration of the energy transition and the decarbonization of the economy.
