Organized by EDPR through the Fundación EDP en España, the most recent edition took place in the Iruelas Valley Nature Reserve in the province of Ávila.
The activities carried out by the 60 EDPR volunteers included cleaning the area surrounding the El Burguillo reservoir. Over a distance of 2.5 kilometers, the volunteers filled a total of 30 50-liter bags with all types of garbage and waste that are harmful to the environment.
Children also participated in an environmental scavenger hunt and learned about the indigenous flora and fauna of the area by spending time in nature. In the afternoon, the group also participated in a fun activity that consisted of a canoe trip and an introduction to sailing.
It was an enjoyable experience for the children, who, accompanied by adults, spent an altruistic day acting as volunteers in EDPR employees’ efforts to protect the environment.
With activities like this one, EDPR is both contributing to the care and protection of the environment and offering an opportunity for employees and children alike to enjoy a day of fresh air in a natural environment.
