Project Overview
Carpenter Wind Farm will be located in Jasper County,
Indiana, outside of the town of Remington. The wind farm will
complement the area’s sprawling corn and soybean fields,
providing local farmers with a stable, drought-resistant cash
crop in the form of landowner lease payments. In addition to
landowner payments, Carpenter Farm will generate millions
of dollars in payments to local governments through the life
of the project, benefiting schools, fire departments, and the
township and county.

Energy Output
Carpenter Wind Farm will have an installed capacity of 198 megawatts (MW). Carpenter Wind Farm’s generation will be equivalent to the consumption of 53,000 Indiana homes.

Community
Carpenter Wind Farm yields significant economic benefits to the community in the form of payments to landowners, local spending, and annual community investment.
Carpenter Wind Farm represents a capital investment of approximately $365 million. The project will create 150 - 200 full-time equivalent jobs during construction and 10 - 14 permanent jobs during the life of the project. Millions of dollars will be spent within 50 miles of the wind farm throughout the life of the project.

Environment
Carpenter Wind Farm will save more than 352 million liters of water each year and displaces carbon emissions from fossil fuel power plants, a major contributor to climate change. Wind energy also enhances air quality by helping to mitigate the health effects of harmful air pollutants.

Landowners
Carpenter Wind Farm is compatible with other land uses and will provide a stable form of income to local landowners. Approximately $70 million will be paid to local landowners throughout the life of the project.

Turbines
Modern wind turbine generators are sophisticated, high-tech machines designed to capture the kinetic energy of the wind and convert it into electricity. A turbine’s blades capture the wind and rotate an internal shaft connected to a gearbox spinning a generator to produce electricity.
Carpenter Wind Farm would consist of approximately 44 turbines.

The vast majority of wind farm equipment is manufactured in the United States.
