Energy storage is both a topic for debate and a solution to be found before the recurring challenge of renewable energy.
The Competitiveness and Technology Cluster for Energy (Energy IN) in partnership with the Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento (FLAD) held the 4th edition of the EnergyIN Conference on October 31st in Lisbon.
The impacts on the energy sector resulting from the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Agreement (TTIP) and the challenges raised by energy storage were the topics that were discussed in this year's Conference.
The event brought together over 100 participants, 3 international guest speakers and 10 participants in two roundtables.
CFO Rui Teixeria represented EDP Renováveis, who believes that the success of renewables depends partially on efficient solutions for energy storage, a solution that would eliminate the recurring problem that affects renewables: the ability to produce energy only when solar or wind resources are available.
This conference allowed everyone to reflect on the challenges associated with energy and renewables, two topics that will be at the top of the list of domestic and international companies in the sector in the coming years.
