The future of the European energy sector brought together attendees from 23 member states, that set global targets for 2030 and examined local problems.
The future of the European energy sector was debated at the 14th edition of the European Forum for Renewables Energy Sources (EUFORES), at the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic.
This European interparliamentary meeting, created in 1995, brought together attendees from 23 member states, that set global targets for 2030 and examined local problems.
EDPR was in attendance and presented the success story of renewable energy in Portugal, but warned of the need for European market reforms. EDPR's participation in this debate was to establish long-term contracts for market reform, for Europe to regain its importance.
EDPR CEO, João Manso Neto says there are several reform issues to consider at the European level, including the objectives set for 2030. It is important to understanding the commitments made under the agreement, the restructuring of the market model, and, importantly, increased collaboration, since the Iberian Peninsula continues to be an energy island.
