On Tuesday, February 25, several employees from EDPR NA attended a Wind Lobby Day at the Kansas State Capitol in Topeka, Kansas.
Attending the Wind Lobby Day from EDPR NA were Development Project Manager Josh Bohach, Operations Administrator Michelle Graham, Operational Compliance Manager Mike Grimes, Executive Vice President (Central Region) Steve Irvin, and Development Project Manager Rorik Peterson. Three Meridian Way wind farm Vestas technicians, a Cloud County Commissioner, the Cloud County Economic Development Director, five Cloud County Community College Wind Energy instructors, and 16 wind energy students were also present.
The EDPR NA team spoke with representatives and senators about the importance of wind energy, had lunch with a group from the Wind Coalition organization (a nonprofit association formed to encourage the development of the vast wind energy resources of the south central United States), toured the newly remodeled Capitol, and sat in on a Senate meeting that included an introduction to Senator Elaine Bowers of the Kansas State Legislature.
